When the seminar is held at a hotel, do participants of your seminar receive special room rates?
Yes. We generally reserve a limited nnumber of guest rooms for each seminar. The number to call will be on your seminar confirmation. Mention that you are attending our seminar to get the reduced room rate. NOTE: room blocks fill up early; we do not guarantee availability; we do not guarantee hotel rates. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you make your seminar and hotel reservations early.
Does the Mei Zen technique involve threading?
No, the needling technique is minimally invasive.
What else will I learn besides a needling protocol?
The course teaches you information that will allow you to incorporate Cosmetic Acupuncture into your practice immediately.
Topics include:
• Who is an appropriate candidate?
• Facial diagnosis
• Nutrition including the energetics of food, Chinese herbs, skin care, body acupuncture points that support skin health
• QiGong to support good results
• Marketing tips
• How to develop outside referral relationships
• Familiarization with plastic surgery
• internal and external supplements specific to skin health

Do I need to bring any needles or other equipment?
Yes, you will receive a complete list of supplies with your seminar confirmation:
• bring your travel kit which should include needles, cotton balls, alcohol swabs, a sharps container, and Qtips.

Optional:
• arnica gel


What kind of facial results can patients expect and how long do they last?
Improvement in fine lines and a diminishing of deeper wrinkles
Improved muscle tone and firmer jaw line
Moisturized, softer skin and more even skin tone
Reduction in puffiness
Reduction or elimination of rosacea and acne
General health benefits include but are not limited to: reduction in mild anxiety and/or depression, reduction in hot flashes, increased energy, reduced insomnia, improved digestion.
Results can last from 3 to 5 years with maintenance.
What kind of results can patients expect from the abdominal protocol? I understand that it can be used for fertility, abdominal toning, weight loss, and some health issues.
In the course Abdominal Acupuncture (formerly titled Tackle Infertility and Obesity) you will learn how to use the Mei Zen Abdominal Protocol to treat infertility. You will be given the protocol along with supporting information and a treatment plan for the treatment of fertility. Dr. Lucas has had tremendous success with fertility patients using her program which she calls Your First Fertility Choice. There is also a section in the course that teaches a program to treat obesity. The protocol can also be used to treat serious chronic health issues like chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia.
Is this a "real" seminar or is it about selling a product or equipment?
The seminar is "real." It's educational. It's information-packed. Seminar participants especially appreciate the supervised hands-on practice, which allows them to learn how to use the facial and abdominal techniques. Products are mentioned and sometimes samples are available but that is purely for your information and support as you build your Cosmetic Acupuncture practice. Seminar participants leave the seminar feeling they have been given the complete training to use this quickly in their practices.
What is the basis of the Mei Zen technique?
The Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System™ is an organized piece of work developed from research, clinical experience, and schooling. Course materials include a bibliography of sources. The needling techniques are based on information from Twelve Ancient Methods of Insertion into the Twelve Regular Channels (the Nei Jing) and other sources including Master Tong's Acupuncture.
Is this the same technique that Mary Elizabeth Wakefield or Virginia Doran teach?
No.

What does the seminar cost?
2 day Cosmetic Acupuncture: Face & Neck course: $325 for early registration which is at least 30 days in advance. Eight to 29 days before the seminar the cost is $345; then the cost for the course goes up to the full price of $375.
Abdominal Acupuncture (aka Tackle Infertility and Obesity): $325 for early registration, 30 days or more in advance. Registration during the week before the seminars costs $375.
• Intensive courses: $700
• 2 1/2 day Cosmetic Acupuncture: Face, Neck, and Abdomen - $425 for early registration, at least 30 days in advance. The cost for the course goes up to $475 if you register 8 to 29 days prior to the seminar and then to full price of $500 during the week before the seminar.


Can TCM students take your course?
Yes. We accept students who have completed some part of Student Clinic. Student ID required at seminar check-in.

Do students receive a discount?
Yes. A limited number of seats is reserved at a discounted price for TCM students. Student discounts apply until the week before the seminar. At that time everyone pays full price.
Are there pre-requisites for attending?
We teach licensed Practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine/Acupuncturists, other health care providers who are licensed or certified to perform acupuncture, and advanced TCM students. Basic knowledge of point location and function and differentiation and diagnosis expected.
What if I register for a seminar and then have to cancel?
This is our Cancellation Policy which is also stated in your confirmation: If a registrant cancels more than 2 weeks prior to the seminar, a full refund minus a $50 processing fee will be given; no refund will be given if you cancel less than 2 weeks before the seminar. Cosmetic Acupuncture Seminars reserves the right to cancel a seminar 30 days in advance if a minimum number of registrations is not met. In that event, 30 days notice and a full refund will be given to early registrants. If Cosmetic Acupuncture Seminars must reschedule a seminar due to forces beyond our control (weather for example) no refunds will be given. Your seminar fee will be applied to the rescheduled seminar.
